On the Morning of June 9, 1984, The body of 17 year old Melanie was found in Bath, USA
Friends of the victim had reported seeing her at a local night club, which was a short distance from her home.
Police searched for the murder weapon but found none.
Police took several DNA samples, Since that time DNA technology was not very strong at that time.....
DNA matched 94 people and none of them was charged. The case went cold.
This Case was finally solved 3 decades (30 years later) later in 2015 when a DNA match came through.
The police identified Christopher Hampton as the killer..
It all started with the unrelated arrest of Christopher daughter in 2014 for a petty domestic dispute, which meant her DNA was added to the police records. Christopher's DNA was a partial match to to the long cold Melanie Road case.
After numerous medical tests and serious investigations by the Detectives, It was finally concluded and that Christopher was the murderer of 1984 Melanie Road killing.
